The Great Guarana

What is guarana?

Guarana is a Brazilian plant native to the Amazon basin. Also known as Paullinia cupana, it is named for the Guarani tribe in the Amazon who used the seeds to make a brewed drink for energy. Many years later, this wonder plant’s seeds are still used as a form of medicine. Although there has never been scientific evidence to support the claims of its benefits, the inhabitants of the Amazon Basin have used this plant and its seeds for energy and medicine for centuries.
